HRA v Academy 4 August 2017

With the 2017 HDTL season nearing the end there were plenty of top-of and bottom-of the division matches to be decided this week, and more to be played next week.

Harrogate Racquets won at home against Starbeck to take the 1st division, and Harrogate Racquets A won at home against Academy to take second place, completing a 1-2 in Division 1 for the Firs Road club.

In Division 2 Ripon are champions, and will be promoted to Division 1 next year along with Boroughbridge A. Division 3 has been won by  Almscliffe, as champions, and second place and promotion to Division 2 next season goes to Harlow.

There are three teams who could win Division 4, with Starbeck B currently leading ahead of Bedale A and Harlow A, who play each other on 14 August in a postponed match. Harrogate Spa Tennis Centre are Division 5 champions with a top games score of 1020, and Wetherby A join then in Division 4 next season. Division 6 sees Starbeck C and Masham on top with equal points, and they play each other at Starbeck on 7 August, a game to come and watch!

Once all the champions are known the trophies and medallions will be engraved ready for the Annual Dinner and Trophy presentation at the Black Sheep Brewery on 22 September, organised by West Tanfield Club.
